
This article describes how to check your Microsoft 365 email storage usage.
When you reach the storage limit, you would not be able send or receive any messages. Also, people who send you email will receive an error message that tells your mailbox is full.

Solution
Scenario 1: Using Outlook desktop app
- Click File tab at the ribbon, then you will immediately see the overall storage usage in the Account Information pane.

- To see the breakdown of the storage used, click Tools > Mailbox Cleanup > View Mailbox Size... > Server Data tab.
Note 1: It may take a while to load the storage usage data.
Note 2: 1 GB = 1,024 MB = 1,048,576 KB



Scenario 2: Using Outlook on the Web / 'New' Outlook desktop app
- Go to Outlook on the Web and sign in using your CUHK email / launch 'New' Outlook desktop app
- At the top right of the page / app, select Settings
> General > Storage. The usage information will be shown on the right-side pane.

- In addition, in the same pane you will see a breakdown of how much storage space each folder in your mailbox is taking.

- (Optional) If you have In-Place Archive / Online Archive feature enabled in your mailbox, you can check its usage by clicking the In-place archive tab.
